Description: This 1982 promotional issue stereo album in the Masterworks Digital series from CBS Records (IM 37251) features performances of two Beethoven works: Sonata in F Major, Op. 5, No. 1 and Sonata in G minor, Op. 5, No. 2. Both are performed by Emanuel Ax (piano) and Yo-Yo Ma (cello). Album notes are in English, German and French by Peter Eliot Stone; the German translation is by Dr. Wolfgang Steuhl. Also included is a large (album-sized) 2-sided insert sheet explaining the details of the new digital recording and pressing process. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (see Photo 2), underneath of which is a metallic "FOR PROMOTION ONLY" stamping. The inner plain-paper sleeve has a tear along the top edge and a small end split. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
