It measures approximately 3 X 2 X 1.5 inches and weighs about 8 ounces. It has been polished smooth by wind and water. It has a weak magnetic properties, a strong magnet was lightly attracted on one side and seemed to have no attraction to the other side. This was found in central Wyoming. Banded Iron is at least 1.8 billion years old and formed of iron, hematite, magnetite with chert, jasper or quartz.
