Description: Penn Antique Restoration Vintage Solid Wood Child's Rocking Chair w/Caned Backrest & Seat Wow, what a stunning chair! It has a solid wood frame (nothing hollow) and the seat and backrest are caned (wicker).It was salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. At the point of salvage, one the front stretchers which supports the blades was missing (see 1st photo). Our carpenter added one and also tightened all of the screws that secure the rest of the parts, and now the chair is as sturdy as it was when it was first built. Since we don't know whether you will refinish or paint the piece, we didn't stain the new stretcher. However, we could do so free of charge prior to shipping--let us know after you checkout.Considering it's age, the chair is in great shape. The caning is 100% intact and shows few signs of wear. There are the typical small nicks and light scratches on the frame, however, there are no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, etc.. This chair is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service!
