Description: Exquisite antique German embroidery sampler attached to paper with handwritten instructions in Dutch Measurements: 9.25” x 13.75” Early 20th c.? Three exquisitely worked samples of German embroidery on red fabric attached to thick paper. Instructions in Dutch are handwritten in ink on both sides of the page. The swatches are only attached to the page on their top edges so you can lift the fabric to see the embroidery from the reverse side. A unique piece that would frame nicely. Bottom corners of page have small creases, but great condition overall. The cloth pieces could be ironed flatter, but I didn’t want to try it!
