Description: Our client's wonderful Chinese three-panel screen or room divider, finely painted on silk depicting lovely floral bouquets in porcelain and cloisonne enameled vases plus censer and fish bowl, is mounted in a carved and glazed giltwood frame. 44 inches wide, 34 1/2 inches tall. Such screens of this modest scale have been used since the 6th century in Japan, commonly to screen entrances and block the sun and/or wind. They are also used to divide rooms, and separate workspaces from residential spaces. In good condition. Scuffs, scratches, rubbing wear, nicks and scattered small losses to the frame. Painting in good condition. Restoration to a clean break to the openwork section above the center panel with a few areas of glue residue visible.
