ANTIQUE CHERRY SLIDE LID CANDLE BOX PENNA

Description: Here's a very fine cherry dovetailed slide lid candle box from Pennsylvania, circa 1840. I acquired this from a collector who bought it in Berks county PA many years ago. There is nothing specifically Berks county about it-- it could be from any of the neighboring counties at that time-- but I'm passing on that info. The finish is an original reddish wash and light varnish. I like the little brass ring pull attached to the end of the lid. I believe that is original. The box is 11.75 inches wide X 6 inches high X 6 inches wide. The inside measures 10.75 X 4.5 X 5 inches. The condition is wonderful and the box feels like something that's been cherished for a long time.
