Description: From a local estate is this charming antique 19th century English ABC plate with a transfer printed scene of a girl holding a puppy along with the mother dog looking on. There is a printed saying beneath the scene “That Girl wants the Pup Away, but its Mother’s Looks say Nay”. The plate is 5 1/2” in diameter, and it has an impressed mark on the back for Elsmore & Forster Tunstall. Condition: The detail of the scene is quite good and crisp. There is a noticeable shallow chip on the back of the plate at the edge of the rim, but it is contained to the back of the plate and does not affect the front of the plate which shows quite nicely.
