Description: For sale is a Used, Near Fine, Copy of Willy Ley's Book, "Adventures in Space Travel", A First Edition Published in 1958 by Simon & Schuster. This book has been in storage since 1958 when my father received it when he was an executive with General Mills Mechanical Division. General Mills Mechanical Division was involved with the space program and was testing high altitude balloons at the time. General Mills was a contributor to this book and John Polgreen was the illustrator. While I am not a professional book grader, from my research this copy would fall in the near fine category. It is sharp but with some minor bumping on the corners and minor chipping on the edges of the boards. In addition, the back cover has a few very minor surface scratches. The inside pages are clean and free of any marks, stains, creases. etc. The spine is firm with good binding. This is a wonderful richly illustrated copy of this scarce Willy Ley book from 1958. This book will be securely packed with special packaging including foam blocks, bubble wrap and corner protectors Please review the photographs and ask questions.
