Vol.,” with the rank in his hand and date, “Sept. 9th, 1864,” in another hand, measures 2.875 by 1 inches, and in good condition with heavy staining, toning, and having been attached to a larger slip of paper. A Doubleday autograph sold for $1,383 at RR Auction in March 2008.
