Description: You are looking at a pair of new Tommyzees Racefab subframe connectors for a '65-'70 Mustang, they will fit coupe and fastbacks. The installation instructions are below, please keep scrolling down. These connectors will not fit Mustang convertibles. These are the best made and fitting subframe connectors you can buy. They hug the floorpan nicely and DO NOT hang down any lower than the front framerails. They are a weld in design because bolt on connectors do little to add rigidity to the chassis. These connectors will stiffen the chassis to let your suspension mods work. Here is a feature article on Fordmuscle.com on the building and installation of these subframe connectors on a '65 Mustang. Click on the link below: http://www.fordmuscle.com/forums/suspension-articles/496497-tubular-subframe-connectors.html -They are made from 1 3/4" diameter x .095" wall thickness round tubing. -Mandrel bent round tubing. -They are fully MIG welded in a fixture for straightness. -Fully gusetted and braced. -They extend up the rear framerails a full 8 1/2". -They fully surround the front framerails by 4 1/2".Mustang Subframe Connector Instructions: This is set of weld in sub frame connectors. They will fit 1965-1970 Mustangs . Due to the varying assembly line tolerances that these cars were made with, they may not be a perfect fit every time. Every effort was made in the prototyping process to allow them to fit as many years and models as possible. The dimensions which were settled upon were deemed the best for use. The connectors are shipped tack welded together, the welds can easily be ground through with an angle grinder. After a few mishaps with connectors being lost or the box breaking open, this was deemed the best way to ship these connectors, I have not had a mishap since adopting this shipping method. The instructions for installation are as followed: 1. The best way to install these is with the use of a drive on vehicle lift in which all four tires are supported as the vehicle is raised into the air. Such a lift is found in muffler and automotive repair shops. If such a lift is not available the vehicle will need to be raised efficiently to allow welding of the connectors, either by placing the car on ramps or jack stands on a nice level surface. Jack stands should be placed under the rear differential housing and front lower control arms so that the vehicle weight is resting on its suspension. Failure to do this could cause the chassis to twist out of position and cause body alignment problems. The car should also be placed as close to level front to back and front to rear as possible. 2. The connectors are marked left and right. The front of the connector will have the "boxed" in area with a gusset. The "boxed" in piece will surround the front frame rail on each side. The frame rail to floor pan connection on '69-'70 models will need to be clearanced so the connector "box" can slip over the frame rail. The "box" will need to fit flush with the back of the frame rail. The back of the connector slips over the rear frame rail with a "C" channel connection. The top of the connector will sit flush with with the bottom of the rear frame rail. 3. The best fit is achieved when the front connector "box" is flush with the back of the front frame rail and the top of the connector is flush with the bottom of the rear frame rail. The connectors should be held in place with a hydraulic jack or jack stands and tack welded in place. 4. Grind all paint, rust or undercoating from areas where the connector will weld to the car. Use at least a 130 AMP mig welder for best results. Weld all vertical and horizontal areas of the connector where the connector touches the front frame rail, bottom of the rear frame rail and the rear frame rail where it rises to clear the rear end.. A good rust inhibiting primer should be sprayed. Followed by a good coat of paint. Tom 1-915-490-6644 -Multiple weld points.
