Description: Intriguing Mid century 50s/60s original oil painting. Depicts a Modernist cityscape scene of what appears to be Italian villas in Venice, Italy. Very well done with impressive lines and brushstrokes. Boasts thick paint and eye catching detail. Medium is oilcon trimmed canvas loosely mounted to foam board. Signed by the artist in the bottom left hand corner looks to read either Elvis Donny or Chris Donny. Definitely worthy of further research for this is a very well done piece most likely by an artist of some notoriety. Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer. In Fair/Good overall condition. Exhibits moderate to heavy wear and soiling. Small puncture wound to the left lower villa but not noticeable until a much closer inspection is done. Quite worthy of framing. Displays very handsomely. Measures 16 1/2” x 12 1/2”.
