Description: This beautiful Oil on Canvas landscape in the Hudson River School theme, by A. Mills is in excellent condition, with no evidence of wrinkles, tears or punctures in the canvas, nor any observed evidence of repairs. The ornate gold frame is in excellent condition on the front and the gold is brilliant. The back of the frame has minor cracks and scratches (see photograph). The framed dimensions of the painting are 27 inches wide X 23 1/4 inches high. The unframed dimensions are 20 inches wide X 16 inches high. The painting depicts a river with two fishermen in a small boat in the background, and a foot path between stately Birch trees in the foreground, all below low hanging clouds. The painting is signed "A. Mills" in the lower right corner. This painting was purchased as a "pair", with the other painting having an identical ornate gold frame, with a similar landscape scene, signed by a different artist. These two paintings complement each other when hung side by side, which they have been in our home since 2001, and was purchased from a reputable dealer.
