1991 CLASSIC HOCKEY DRAFT PICKS [with BONUS CARD] [FRENCH LANGUAGE BACKS]

Description: This is an offer of a 1991 Classic Hockey Draft Picks cards -- the base set, plus the Bonus Card. All cards feature the French language on the backs, so as to enhance sales within hockey-crazy Quebec. So don't be confused or upset -- this is not 'PC.' This is 'EC' or 'economics,' and it's not about anyone's politics. In any event, the set features the NHL Quebec Nordiques #1 pick -- and future hockey Hall-of-Famer -- Eric Lindros. But Lindros immediately refused to play for the Nordiques, and the next year the team traded Lindros to Philadelphia. Then in 1995, the Nordiques themselves refused to play in Quebec City, and so became the current Colorado Avalanche. Lindros is listed as Card #1, and there is also a Promo Card featuring Lindros, as well as #2 pick Pat Falloon. The so-called 'Bonus Card' features college football star Raghib 'The Rocket' Ismail, who had recently signed with the Canadian Football League (CFL) after having left Notre Dame. Ismail's football nickname as 'The Rocket' fit nicely with legendary hockey star Maurice 'The Rocket' Richard, and so Ismail is pictured in a Montreal Canadiens jersey.
