Description: This BLUE STRIATED Pelikan M400 Souverän was made in Germany in the 90's and is one of the first actual Souverän models. It is almost the same as an old style M600, except it has a 14k nib and some other minor details. The nib is a two- tone, crafted from 14k 585 gold and is a M-Medium. A very smooth nib to write with. The pen is in near mint to mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. There are no cracks visible anywhere on it. The nib writes well and the pen has received a service, which included thorough cleaning and lubrication of the silicone gasket with silicone. These M400 pens had a piston assembly that was made to break if disassembled, so a full disassembly was not possible for this reason. I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 blue tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib.
