Description: 1976 $2 FRN Note Green Printing major shifting down. Major shift (this narration kinda messed up, but bear with me, the facts are all there. Sorry. not doing it again. Ever had an error note before? Betcha haven't, well here's a doozy. The Green print of the serial number on the right is almost touching the 'black printed 'Washington DC', and the black seal is way down as is the green serial number on the left is nearly touching the signature. 1976 44 + Years Old. Wow. I'm not trying to start a revolution nor just inflating value with words but: Hear me out and look at the pictures. I revisited this item because I improved the pictures, again, lookat the last two pictures and you can see the folds. Here's my thinking; for a note to be uncirculated, it must not have very many demerits, this one has three, the trifolds of the fellow or gal saving this note because it was special, in the fact that 1) it's a $2 bill 2) it's in near perfect condition, and quite obviously, because the field of the note (see pink arrows on the pictures) [the arrows are not glued or taped on, it's sticky notes which leave no residue] The arrows point at the 'field'. I note these areas because they are "off the press" perfect. No holes, tears, marks or, etc. The bottom & top edges have demerits, but that also was caused by improper storage. So... With that in mind, I say, the note was NOT in circulation, but improper storage. Now, I want to be fair. I collected this note from another collector who collected this and stuck it in his wallet. It came from a bank and into his pocket. Now, with that, it's 'uncirculated'. But, I'm no grader but I do know this... Uncirculated has demerits, because a perfect note is a 70 condition being the highest. From 60 to 70 is considered 'uncirculated'. Just an uncirculated note, could be 20 - 70. A gem uncirculated coin also could be 60 - 70. I tried my best to show the trifolds and other wrinkles. Believe me, they are not bad. But look in the last two pictures, enlarge and inspect and you will see the demerits done by folding and keeping in a wallet or book. Someone knew they had a great note, tried to 'keep it' nice, and failed. Anyway, make it yours. A great error note, and that's why I collected it. Now it's time for me to retire from collecting and save someone the burdon of doing what I'm doing. I checked with the family, and they have no interest in collecting. so here it is. I hope you enjoyed looking at it, learned something with me, and maybe you will comment on my 'new grade of' uncirculated mess'. LOL So, I'm calling this uncirculated, besides, it raises the value. haha If this note didn't have an error, it'd be worth one dollar. But the error is so pronounced, it bumps it pretty good. Let's use the serial number to price it. Okay? $72,876,806.00. Oh,is that too high, ok, let's try $75.00. If it was without the wallet folds, it would be in the $500 range, check out prices before you bid. Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoyed and maybe learned something with me. If you want it, bid early and often and last. Capt Brian
