Tiger legends included Al Kaline, Norm Cash, Willie Horton, Bill Freehan, Denny McLain, Mickey Lolich, Mickey Stanley, Jin Northrup, Gates Brown, Dick McAuliffe and manager Billy Martin. Oakland featured Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, Vida Blue, Joe Rudi, Rollie Fingers, Gene Tenace, Campy Campaneris and manager Dick Williams.
