Grace Jemison [Montgomery, Alabama: Paragon Press, 1959], with 356 pages bound in hardcover blue cloth covered boards. 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 x 1 1/8 inches finished size The best and most complete history of Talladega Alabama - it has been reprinted twice during the last few years but this is the original. Has a huge [16] page index at the back of the book, thereby making it easy to use - especially for genealogists. Only 2 copies of the ORIGINAL listed on ebay: priced at $90 & $95. Mine can be had for less than half of that. {In fact, many of the Print on Demand reprints are priced higher than my original;-} The 1984 reprint looks just like this one from the binding but if one looks at the copyright page one can see that it was published in 1984. No dust jacket, otherwise VG & bright original; But it's LIGHTLY EX-LIBRARY in that it has private collector's (gift to Birmingham Southern College) bookplate on the front pastedown; the college's rubber stamp on the 3 visible edges of the text block (see 3rd scan to see how this looks on a similar book); and a rubber stamp on rear pastedown endpaper. NO MARKS ON title page, no marks on the spine, no card pocket at the rear of the book. So LIGHTLY ex-lib. Otherwise Very Good and bright original 1959 edition. Book was bought legally at the recent auction of Birmingham Southern College's rare book room. _________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
