A kind ebayer wrote us the following: Just a comment on the "Lesson Plan," it belonged to Amanda A. (Gockley) Baum who was born in 1917, in 1934 she would've been 17, so this is not a "teacher's" lesson plan but rather something she did while a student at Denver High School. Amanda was a dear friend and died in 2011. She did go on to be a teacher, teaching in the Ephrata School District, at the time of her retirement she was teaching at Highland Elementary School in Ephrata This antique notebook belonged to Amanda A Gockley of Denver, Pennsylvania and details her lessons plans as a children's art teacher OR as a student during the autumn of 1934. It is composed of lined, loose leaf paper fastened by two metal brads, and in addition to sketches in the notes, included are several loose crayon drawings and stencils on construction paper. This unique and primitive Art Lesson Plan notebook would make an authentic addition to a rustic bookshelf or coffee table, and is an interesting artifact that provides us a first-hand look into the teaching methods and artistic styles of the time. This notebook includes approximately 110 pages of art lesson plans. Condition: as shown: Papers are sturdy and well-fastened, and show only gentle wear, with some pieces having wrinkles and tears around the edges.
