M .; he was a son of Cologne's music director Franz Lindlar. He completed his studies in Cologne, later in Italy. He made his debut at the Cologne Opera House in 1925 as Tonio in the "Bajazzo". 1927-29 he was engaged at the Leipzig Opera House. Here he sang on February 10, 1927 in the premiere of the opera "Jonny plays up" by Krenek, on December 4, 1927 in that of "Satuala" by Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek. He then went to the Düsseldorf Opera House. During his engagement in Düsseldorf (1931-41) he sang there on February 11, 1933 in the premiere of the opera "Der Roßknecht" by Winfried Zillig, on November 15, 1936 he played the title role in the premiere of the opera "Enoch Arden" by Ottmar Gerster, on October 2, 1937 in the premiere of "Magnus Fahlander" by Fritz von Borries, on May 23, 1938 in that of Ludwig Maurick's "Simplicius Simplicissimus". From 1941 he performed at the Theater in Saarbrücken, and finally after the Second World War at the Opera House in Frankfurt am Main. He has given guest performances in Barcelona and Paris, in Lille, Antwerp and in The Hague. In his voice one appreciated the sharpness of the art of characterization in addition to its fullness of tone, as well as his imposing appearance in parts such as the Wotan in the ring cycle, the Flying Dutchman, the Kurwenal in "Tristan", the Scarpia in "Tosca", the Sebastiano in "Lowland" «By d'Albert and Hans Sachs in the" Meistersinger ". After completing his stage career, he worked as a teacher in Frankfurt. His brother Franz Lindlar (1889-1931) was also an opera singer and had worked as a bass player at the Cologne Opera House since 1915. If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel.
