Description: 1790-1820 Trunk Americana. The rifle was confirmed by and expert made 1790-1820. It was made in Berks County, PA Level is from upstate NY but is period accurate *As is in photos.* 21.8lbs give or take... Construction materials :wood and iron some sort of rope. What makes this trunk unique is the Pennsylvania/Kentucky long rifle butt template in the top of the lid see in the picture the shape of the butt of one of these here rifles so if you was out trapping or just on the farm and somehow broke the butt you could make a new one and mount it level on the butt stock... really special and ultra rare I've never seen one before in any documentary or movies, books it's like they just left out some of the better details. I bought an old Kentucky long rifle from the post revolution era /early America that was originally flintlock and was upgraded to percussion cap. This was the case that Kentucky long rifle was sold with its a gun carpentry kit that includes the original period accurate level. No the long rifle ain't for sale on ebay.
