Description: 1/6 daguerreotype of a man wearing a cap. Mat is stamped "J.J. OUTLEY, ARTIST / ST. LOUIS" in the bottom corners. Inside the back of the case is written the date, September 29th, 1855. Also notice the unusual mat design.. I think it's original. Original seals are still in place and unbroken. Dag appears to be in excellent condition.. there is some fogginess visible when viewing at angles but I can't tell if it's on the underside of the glass or on the plate.. I believe most likely on the glass. In a full case with matching, separated covers. I took a bunch of pics with my cell phone, some with flash to reduce reflections and show detail... cell pics have been uploaded to this listing without any enhancing of any kind.
