1/48 Scale Set of 4 US Spacecraft Models

Description: Celebrate 60 years of U.S. manned spaceflight! May 5, 2021 was the 60th anniversary of the first American in space, and this set commemorates all of the US spacecraft that are (unfortunately) known as "Capsules." As Alan Shepard, the first American in space, was said to have said, "That is a SPACECRAFT, sir! We do NOT refer to it as a "Capsule!" These 3D printed plastic models are all to scale with each other - 1/48 scale, to be exact, from the diminutive one-man Mercury (only 6 feet across), to the Gemini which taught astronauts how to rendezvous and dock, the Apollo which flew 24 Americans to the Moon, and the 7-seat Dragon which first flew with a crew in 2020. For those unfamiliar with scale, a 6-foot man would be 1.5" high in this scale. No, there will not be a model of the Shuttle in this scale, because the Shuttle is HUGE compared to these craft.These are fully assembled. They have pretty good detail for the size. Included is a tiny astronaut to show scale (color of astronaut may vary; may be white or gray). Mercury includes heat shield and retro pack detail. Gemini includes the white equipment module and detailed attitude jets (RCS for you space geeks out there). The Apollo spacecraft includes exterior grab handles and a very detailed docking probe.
