Description: This is an Antique Cut Glass Vase.Unusual & rare shape in a tall size. Wonderful rolled rim and trumpet shape on thick wafer base cut with a rayed star. The cut optic design is a hexagonal "Honeycomb" motif, some might call the design "Georgian" or "hex Optic" to describe it as well. The rolled rim has a diamond and wedge cutting around it for contrast from the body. This is 14" tall by 6-1/4" wide top rim & 5" wide base. It is from the early American brilliant period or possibly the era before which some would call the Flint era (1800-1900). Companies like Boston & Sandwich made fine glass like this and the early American Brilliant Companies like Hoare did a lot of geometrics that used Honeycomb designs (you can see similar style in Early Corning Glass books.) I am not sure who cut this but has the weight and feel of a Brilliant era piece to give you an idea of weight, and it does fluoresce bright green from Manganese. Condition: this is pre-owned and over 120 years old.. This has no chips or cracks to the rims. The base has scuffs/scratches on bottom from age which is common. Inside is clear and clear and not clouded up or sick. There are a few little dimpled spots in the side of the vase under the rolled rim where you can see natural flaws but they cause no issues- see pics........................ *No Returns/Refunds Policy*...Please Note that we do not accept returns or refunds.
